Biography

Robin Padilla is an enigma. It is practically impossible not to be fascinated
by his exploits both on and off screen. Much has been written and said about his
conviction, drug problem and conversion to Islam.

However, his return to show business after a hiatus has caused more than a
few ripples and he is back in the reckoning after having signed a 2-movie deal
with Kapuso/GMA Network, for a movie with Regine Velasquez and Angel Locsin
each, while also starring in the latest action-drama series with the lovely
Angel Locsin.

Robin, now known as Abdul Aziz, is an action hero in the Philippines, who rose
to stardom during the mid 1990s with films like ‘Anak ni Baby Ama’,
‘Bad Boy’ (1990), ‘Grease Gun Gang’ (1992) and other mobster
flicks. Robin first break as an actor came in the 1985 flick ‘Public Enemy#2’.

In the mid 1990s, Robin was convicted for the illegal possession of firearms
and was sent to jail to be released in 1998. He is a self-confessed rehabilitated
drug addict and has been embroiled in controversies quite often. But, Robin
has sported a cleaner, and more dignified lifestyle after his prison release,
has proven his versatility by working in movies from action to comedy to musicals,
and now romance.

Robin’s first film after his release was ‘Kailangan ko'y Ikaw’
with Regine Velasquez and proved to be hige draw at the BO. But, Robin has been
linked with some of the most beautiful and biggest Filipino actors such as Sharon
Cuneta, Vina Morales, and Regine Velasquez, who have also been his co-stars
in many hit romantic movies.

Controversies asides, Robin Padilla come across as humble and down-to-earth
man despite his huge celebrity status. A loving husband and father, he is married
to Liezl for over 18 years now. His wife and children stay on the Gold Coast
in Australia and he visits them every month.

He also helps Muslim children with their education and donated his home to
be used as a school for those Muslim children who can’t go to school due
to lack of money.
